I can not wait for the next Batman movie!
To be honest, it doesn't really have anything to do with the fact that Heath Ledger is in it, or that it was his last film. I don't say that to be crass or cold because I enjoyed a lot of his movies, but people are so idolized after their deaths - particularly when they die incredibly young, and that's not what this is about for me. Personally, I LOVE Christian Bale. The first movie I saw him in was Newsies when I was like, nine, and I have been in love ever since. I thought he did an amazing job in Batman Begins and I have been looking forward to this one since it was announced. The fact that Heath's performance is generating Oscar-buzz doesn't really factor into the equation because, like I said, of course it is because he's no longer with us. I don't doubt he does an amazing job as The Joker, he was a very talented actor. I just think people need to relax a little bit and wait until it comes out before proclaiming that this is the "Godfather II of comic books." No joke, I read that in a review yesterday. Sorry, but almost NOTHING compares to The Godfather or The Godfather II, so don't even try. Even so, I CAN NOT wait for this movie. If you can't wait either, click HERE for a clip of the first five minutes of the flick, including Heath in action, being a bad ass with the scary fucking paint on his face.
